Hawaii SHIP (State Health Insurance Assistance Program) is a federally funded volunteer based program under the Department of Health, Executive Office on Aging. Hawaii SHIP has been in Hawaii since 1992 under a former name of Sage Plus. Hawaii SHIPs mission is to provide free, local, unbiased Medicare counseling, assistance, and referrals to Hawaii’s kupuna.
This workshop will cover:
- The different parts of Medicare,
- How and when to sign up,
- The different penalties you could incur,
- When you are eligible to receive retirement benefits,
- When to file for Medicare, and
- How to get the most from your benefit?
